Spring 2020 Commencement Ceremonies Postponed
Dear Spring of 2020 Graduates,
The coronavirus (COVID-19) has reshaped the way we conduct our daily lives. At Wilmington University, that has meant keeping your safety and well-being foremost in our minds and guaranteeing the continuity of your classes and services. Unfortunately, it now means making the difficult decision to postpone your spring commencement ceremonies initially scheduled for May 17.
2020欧洲杯线上娱乐In Delaware, Governor John Carney has declared a State of Emergency, directing organizers and sponsors of large public gatherings to cancel events immediately. This mandate protects citizens from a possible public health emergency, and it would be irresponsible of us to ignore potentially dangerous conditions. We must all take steps to slow the spread of the virus.
We know how disappointing this must be, and we are also saddened that we can’t celebrate with you in person. But while commencement is a wonderful experience, it is not the only measure of success. Your academic achievement is the most accurate indicator of achievement. You have earned your degree despite overwhelming circumstances, and we could not be prouder of your accomplishments. We applaud your dedication and perseverance.
2020欧洲杯线上娱乐Please be assured that your degrees will be conferred upon receipt of final grades. As would be the case in any circumstance, your diplomas will be mailed in early summer.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time. If we find that restrictions have been lifted and it is safe to do, we will consider a new commencement date. We will be sure to communicate that information promptly.
2020欧洲杯线上娱乐I wish you and your families good health during this critical time. We will get through it together.
