COVID-19 Emergency Grading Accommodation

Summer 2020 Block I, Modular I and II, and Fusion I courses only

Overview

2020欧洲杯线上娱乐This temporary emergency accommodation is designed to reduce the stress that many students are experiencing due to the worldwide disruption related to COVID-19.

2020欧洲杯线上娱乐This accommodation allows for:

  • Undergraduate students to choose:
    • Credit Awarded (CA) for courses with a grade of D­ or above
    • No Credit Awarded (CN) for courses with the grade of an F or a U (Unsatisfactory).
  • Graduate and doctoral students to choose:
    • Credit Awarded (CA) for courses with a grade of C-; or above
    • No Credit Awarded (CN) for courses with the grade of an F or a U (Unsatisfactory).

Courses earning a grade of CA will count toward credits to graduate, but courses earning a grade of CN do not earn credits. This accommodation is available until July 16, 2020 and the decision to switch to credit awarded/no credit awarded is irreversible.

The CA grade:

  • Will not be calculated into a student’s GPA.
  • Will not help to improve your GPA.
  • Credits earned under the accommodation will count toward pre-requisites and degree completion.
  • Will count towards financial aid eligibility if you are enrolled in the required number of courses per financial aid guidelines.

The CN grade:

  • Will not be calculated into a student’s GPA.
  • Courses with the CN grade are not counted towards pre-requisite nor degree completion.
  • Courses with the CN grade may negatively impact your financial aid eligibility. You may want to consult with the financial aid office prior to requesting this option.

Important Considerations

2020欧洲杯线上娱乐Before submitting this form, students should:

  • Consider discussing the changes with their program chairs to ensure there are no unforeseen consequences of switching to credit awarded/no credit awarded, such as accreditation requirements within the major or future application to graduate or professional schools.
  • Third party reimbursement students should consult with their third-party provider in advance to determine their financial responsibility for courses with a grade of (CA/CN).
  • Military students, please note that the military portal does not currently allow for CA/CN option. Consider discussing this with your ESO or the appropriate person.
  • NCAA student-athletes should consult with Associate Athletic Director Erin Harvey to ensure there are no implications on your athletic eligibility.

Procedure

  1. The Emergency Grading Request Form will be available for students in myWilmU from June 29–July 16, 2020.
  2. A student will submit the online form in myWilmU no later than July 16, 2020.
  3. The request will be routed to the student's instructor via email.
  4. The instructor reviews the request and makes a determination.
  5. The instructor submits the request to the Office of the Registrar by forwarding the request, along with the decision. The Instructor can notify the student by cc’ing the student on the email with their decision to the Office of the Registrar.
  6. The Office of the Registrar will complete the grade change on the student’s account.
